Willie Geist is an American television personality and journalist, who serves as the correspondent for NBC News and NBC Sports. Moreover, he appears as a co-anchor of MSNBC’s Morning Joe and anchor of Sunday Today with Willie Geist.
William Russell Geist was born on 3rd May 1975 to parents Bill Geist and Jody Geist in Evanston, Illinois. His father is a retired author, columnist, and television journalist. He is a two-time recipient of Emmy Award in 1992 and 2005 and even received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2011. Similarly, his mother Jody is a social worker. He has a younger sister named Libby Geist.
The 6 foot 4 inch Geist attended George Washington Middle School Ridgewood, New Jersey and then Ridgewood High School. Meanwhile, he graduated from the Vanderbilt University at the age of 22 in 1997.
Willie started his career as an editor and producer for a sports network, CNN Sports Illustrated. He then worked as a field producer and reporter for CNN Sports, covering the Super Bowl, the NCAA Final Four, and The Masters.
Afterward, he began co-hosting 6–9 a.m. on MSNBC. He became NBC News correspondent in 2011 and subsequently became NBC Sports contributor in 2012.
