Seager announced his retirement from baseball on December 29 when the Mariners declined his option for 2022.

 He was drafted in the third round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Mariners and made his MLB debut in 2011. Seager was an All-Star and won a Gold Glove Award in 2014.
