According to the annual World’s Billionaires list released by Forbes, Kylie Jenner, the beauty mogul, has once again been recognized as the youngest ‘self-made’ billionaire at the age of 22.
After selling 51% of her Kylie Cosmetics brand to Coty Inc. for $600 million, she retained her position as the youngest ‘self-made’ billionaire. She managed to surpass Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, 35, in 2019 for this title.
The recent deal, which concluded in January, has elevated the valuation of her business to approximately $1.2 billion. She continues to retain sole ownership of the remaining 49 percent stake.
Forbes also disclosed that as a result of the sale, Kylie Jenner is only one of 2,095 individuals in the world with a ten-digit fortune.
Furthermore, Forbes addressed the controversy surrounding the ‘self-made’ title, acknowledging that although Kylie Jenner comes from a privileged background, she built her business without inheriting it directly, hence justifying the ‘self-made’ title. They asserted, ‘Yes, self-made (despite a lot of help from her famous family, she didn’t inherit her business—she built it). And yes, billionaire (she’s worth $1 billion).’.
Joining the list of young billionaires are sisters Alexandra and Katharina Andresen, aged 23 and 24, with respective net worths of $1.2 billion and $1.1 billion.
The Norwegian sisters are heirs to their father’s holding company, Ferd S.
