The Las Vegas Raiders announced Tuesday night that they have relieved Josh McDaniels and David Ziegler of their positions as head coach and general manager.
In a statement, Las Vegas Raiders Owner Mark Davis said, “After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave. I want to thank them both for their hard work and wish them and their families nothing but the best," according to the team.

Hours after the firing of McDaniels and Ziegler was first announced, the team announced Champ Kelly will serve as its Interim General Manager. Kelly is in his second season as the Raiders' Assistant General Manager.
Prior to his run with the Raiders, Kelly spent seven seasons with the Chicago bears and eight seasons with the Denver Broncos. During his career, he has won five division titles, a conference championship, appeared in Super Bowl XLVIII, and has had players earn a combined 58 pro Bowl nominations and six Hall of Fame enshrinements.
The Raiders say they plan to search for a new permanent general manager once its season is over.
