Lil Nas X's Apology to the Trans Community for Mocking 'Transitioning'

Lil Nas X, the American singer, has issued an apology to the trans community after making a joke about transitioning into a woman with a now-deleted image posted on March 14.

LNX initially posted a photo of social media influencer Glow Princess and joked that “the surgery was a success.” This led many fans to believe that he had actually undergone a gender-changing procedure.

After receiving angry responses to the tweet, he admitted his mistake, stating in another tweet, “Apologies to the trans community. I definitely handled that situation with anger instead of considering why it was not cool. Much love to you guys. Sorry.”

The 23-year-old rapper, known for his hit song “Industry Baby” and for publicly coming out as gay in 2019, has often courted controversy.

In 2021, he faced backlash from religious groups for his provocative music video for the song “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name).”

Many conservative groups criticized him for promoting “gay agendas and demonic visuals” in the video, which depicted him sliding into hell down a stripper pole, becoming a sex slave, and giving Satan a lap dance.
