Also, they've been able to expand their personal life with many connections in the rising-talent industry.

Born Mackenzie Frances Ziegler on June 4, 2004 (age 16), in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mack Z (she hates the name by the way) trained to dance at 2 and sing at 6. And everything paid off. Her mom, Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni and dad Kurt Ziegler divorced in 2011 as Melissa went on to marry Greg Gisoni in 2013. The sisters gained older step-siblings, Matthew and Michelle, from the second marriage. They already had other older step-brothers Tyler and Ryan from Kurt's marriage prior to Melissa.

Yeah, they were spending almost twice as much as they were earning every month while owing over a million dollars to credits, and it was part of the reason their mom and dad separated. That's a lot to take in, huh? She & Maddie first rose to prominence when their dance academy went famous and started collecting paychecks with Lifetime's dance reality show, Dance Moms, in 2011. Maddie went on to feature in Sia's music videos when the singer/songwriter made her comeback with her face covered, and Mackenzie branched out to pursue a professional singing career.

The 16-year-old got into acting when she appeared on TV for the first time in 2015 with an episode of Nickelodeon's Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn. She'd only been in music videos before, including that collaboration with Johnny Orlando, Day & Night. After her first appearance, she expressed her interest in acting as she returned with Maddie to the show in a 2017 episode.

With the cameo acting appearance, she also got into her first modeling thing by walking down the Polo Ralph Lauren Runway in NYC, with Maddie, of course. She went on to be the face of Polo Ralph Lauren's children's spring 2016 collection. She got her author credit when she released a novel, or rather a self-help book, Kenzie's Rules for Life: How to be Happy, Healthy, and Dance to Your Own Beat, in 2018.

As for fashion & beauty, with deals with several clothing brands, she released her own T-shirt line and a cosmetics line in 2018. Her reality TV career expanded with the Dancing with the Stars: Juniors appearances. Of course, her social media portfolio expanded with tons of followers on her pages. It's also important to note that she's a philanthropist as well.

Breaking It Down: Reality TV and Acting

Mackenzie and Maddie are grateful for their parents allowing them to pursue their interest in dance. But it was rather their early decision to get them into dancing that actually brought out the talent in them. When Mackenzie was two and Maddie was four, the parents recruited them to the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh. The younger one actually became the youngest member of the ALDC Jr. Elite Competition team.

Despite the bankruptcy and the divorce, she continued to dance. In fact, former dance teacher Abby Lee Miller once stated that the studio went on to become a second home for the sisters during the divorce as it distracted them from everything that was happening in their actual house.

But as the dance company rose to popularity, they and Melissa grabbed the chance to be a part of Dance Moms in 2011. She appeared in about 160 episodes of the show before leaving in 2016 after six seasons in order to expand every other project that was approaching her. She also appeared in every other spin-off or specials of Dance Moms. Those include Abby's Studio Rescue, Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition and the Christmas specials. She reportedly made $1,000 per episode for the first four seasons ($1,500 including bonuses) and $2,000 per episode in season 5.

She later competed in Dancing with the Stars: Juniors in 2018, where she was partnered with Sage Rosen and finished second. She likely made over $100,000 for her part in the competition.

As dance has been really close to the sisters, they conducted a dance workshop tour of Australia in January 2017, with the second tour in Australia & New Zealand in mid-2018, as she'd featured in a 2017 dance advertisement for General Electric. They dance for Dance Mechanics now.

When she got her first appearance as Lily in Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, her acting interest piqued, and people even mention how she is better at that than Maddie. She lent her voice as the lead in the 2018 animated movie, Ice Princess Lily, and starred alongside Annie LeBlanc [net worth: $2.5 million] in the Holiday Spectacular special later that year. Her biggest role came with the 10-minute series, Total Eclipse, in 2018 as Cassie. She stars alongside Lauren Orlando, Nadia Turner and Emily Skinner as they've appeared in every episode of the show in its four seasons. Her next project, the sci-fi movie, Let Us In, which is in the post-production stage set for a 2020 release. But we'll have to wait on that date.
