Marton’s maternal grandfather is Frank Percival Rayner (the son of John Frederick Rayner and Frances Isabel Sandagger). John was born in New Zealand, to English parents, Richard William Rayner and Ann Elizabeth Hirst. Frances was the daughter of a Danish father, Andreas Fremming Sandagger, and of a Scottish mother, Christina Anderson.

Marton’s maternal grandmother is Jean Margaret Rowan McKinney (the daughter of Joseph Barkley McKinney and Mary “Birdie” Allcock). Joseph was the son of John Alexander McKinney, who was Irish, and of Isabella Burney, who was born in Northern Ireland. Mary was the daughter of William Allcock and Margaret Totty.
