Maya Hawke is an American actress who gained popularity from her role as Robin Buckley in the third season of Netflix series Stranger Things. She is set to appear in Gia Coppola’s upcoming movie Mainstream.

Maya Ray Thurman Hawke was born on 8 July 1998 at St Luck’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, New York. She is the daughter of actor Ethan Hawke and actress Uma Thurman and has a younger brother named Levon Thurman-Hawke. Her parents divorced when she was six years old. Her brother is also an actor, who appeared in the 2018 thriller movie Blackout.

In addition, Maya has two half-sisters Clementine Jane Hawke and Indiana Hawke from her father’s second marriage. She is another half-sister named Luna Thurman-Busson from her mother’s relationship with French financier Arpad Busson.

Hawke with a height of 5 feet 9 inches has dyslexia due to which she changed schools during her primary education. She attended Saint Ann’s School, a private school in Brooklyn, New York. Besides, she went to the performing arts school Juilliard for one year and later dropped out after accepting her role in Little Women.

Earlier, Maya worked as a model for Vogue at the beginning of her career. She appeared in a video campaign for Calvin Klein’s underwear range in 2017.

Hawke made her acting debut at the age of 19 in the role of Jo March in the BBC miniseries adaptation of Little Women in 2017. In 2019, she got an opportunity to cast as Robin Buckley in the Netflix series Stranger Things. Moreover, she appeared in movies, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Human Capital in 2019.

Besides her acting role, Maya is also a singer. She released her first two singles, “To Love A Boy” and “Stay Open” in August 2019.
