Mayra Moreno, a Latina anchor-reporter, is living proof that perseverance and hard work always pay off. She rose to prominence in the journaling field after beginning work as an English correspondent/Spanish host at the Houston airport system in 2006.

Mayra then worked as a reporter/assistant producer for Rio Grande Valley’s KRGV-TV Channel 5 News in Weslaco, TX. She covered stories such as border-crime issues, hurricanes, and community problems while working there. She worked there for a year before returning to her hometown.
