Thompson went professional in 2008 and is presently a member of the PGA Tour’s Champions Tour. In March 2013, he achieved a career-high ranking of No. 43, which was the highest of his career. He has two PGA Tour victories: the Honda Classic in 2013 and the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in 2020.
