Born on 29 April 1953 in Ibadan, Nigeria is Mike Adenuga. He is a Nigerian business tycoon and listed as one of the richest black people in the world. He has his fortune entitled majorly to telecom and oil sector. He is the founder of Globacom, which is the second largest mobile phone company with 24 million subscribers. He owns Conoil Producing, which is an oil producing company, Nigeria’s most lucrative oil fields.

Adenuga parents were simple people. His father was a schoolteacher and his mother was a businessperson. His schooling was done at Ibadan Grammar School, Ibadan. For his further education, he worked as a cab driver while studying at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He eventually moved on to the Pace university in New York with degrees in Business Administration.

His first big achievement was in the year 1990, when he first received the drilling license. In the year 1991, his company stuck oil in the shallow waters of Southwestern Ondo State. It became the first local oil company to take operation on a commercial scale. He stuck fortune at the age of 26, when he returned to Nigeria after completing education from Pace University. He took control of his mother’s sawmill business and started distributing Coco Cola and lace.

Mike Adenuga was the son of Michael Agbolade Adenuga Sr & Juliana Oyindamola Adenuga. His father worked as a schoolteacher and his mother worked as businesswoman by running her own sawmill. His father died in a car accident in 1993.  In the year 2005, Mike Adeunga made a reburial using one of the most costly coffins in the world.
