Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 - Release Date, Battle Pass, & More

The first season of Modern Warfare 2 will shortly be released, and with it, tons of exciting content is on the horizon. Early access players have likely completed the campaign by now, and the online multiplayer preseason is going live on October 28, 2022, so players are itching to grab their Battle Pass and start ranking it up. 

This article will cover the Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 release date and what players can expect when the Season releases!

When Does Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 Release?

The Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 release date is November 16, 2022. This date coincides with the release of Warzone 2.0 as well, so players may have to budget their time when deciding which Call of Duty game to play first!

Players will be able to experience new Spec-Ops missions, the new map Al Mazrah, as well as the Season 1 Battle Pass. 

There is no end date scheduled yet for Modern Warfare 2 Season 1. However, based on the roadmap for Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019). Season 1 was released on December 3, 2019, and ended was scheduled to end on February 4, 2020 (but was extended by a week to February 11). This means the season lasted about two months. This means we can predict the end date of Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 will likely be sometime in January 2023 or February 2023.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 Battle Pass

In a new blog post, Activision has finally revealed the Season 1 battle pass for Modern Warfare 2. The premium battle pass contains 21 sectors, with each sector containing five rewards. These sectors are connected together in a non-linear fashion, meaning players can approach and unlock any adjacent sector at any given time to claim its rewards. 

As mentioned above, every sector contains five rewards, with the fifth and the final being the High Value Target (HVT). Players have to unlock the other four rewards to unlock the HVT of that sector. To unlock battle pass rewards, players require a battle token tier skip. Battle token tier skips are earned by playing matches.

To unlock all the rewards in a sector, players require five battle token tier skips. In total, players will need 100 battle token tier skips to unlock all Season 1 battle pass rewards. Once players have completed all the sectors, they will unlock a victory sector with bonus rewards. 

Players can expect to unlock 1 operator,  3 operator skins, 2 weapons, and more.

 The Battle Pass is purchasable for 1000 COD Points ($10 / £10) or is included with the purchase of the Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition (along with 50 tier skips).
