Name Calling and the Blame Game

Here are some random thoughts and observations, with emphasis on random.

Today’s world is a mess. Nothing seems to be working the way it should. There is little unity, every one wants their own thinking to prevail. If you don’t agree with them or their agenda, they will call you any number of negative names. We are all adults, aren’t we? Why are we spending so much time labeling other people with words that may or may not apply? Name calling is immature and childish.

And why all the negative attitudes? We need to be more positive and work together to solve the numerous problems we are facing. Instead we are playing the blame game. Blame the other side for all the problems. Blame the other side for what you are doing. Don’t take credit for anything negative, only lie about what the other side is doing or not doing.

Learn from traditions and history. Don’t repeat the mistakes. Some traditions may need to altered, but most are there to remind us what really matters. Civilizations throughout history have made mistakes and made poor decisions. We need to learn from the mistakes made and correct them. Learn from these and not repeat them.

We are the United States of America. Or, should we change the name of our country to the Divided or Untied States of America? In the past, even when we didn’t get our way, we accepted the decisions made by our leaders. Today we whine and cry about what we don’t like. We protest, sue and ignore those decisions.

The blame game and name calling won’t solve the numerous problems our nation is facing, yet our so-called leaders can’t or won’t solve these problems. All they are doing is trying to throw more money at them. This is money we don’t have and we are already in debt up to our eyeballs.

Our country needs results, and actions to work on the problems affecting everyone. What we don’t need is more of the same talk, disagreements, childish name calling and petty political grandstanding.

Our democracy is in great danger of failing. Both sides claim the other is responsible — again the blame game. Instead of working together, all we the people see is more of the same political name calling and nothing is being done. Our leaders are not following the law; the U.S. Constitution is the law. Yet, they expect us the voters to follow it.

There is talk of changing the basis for our society. Some have said it is outdated and needs to be completely rewritten. No, it needs to be reread and studied and upheld. As the office holders have sworn in their oath of office, to support and defend the Constitution. Something few are doing.
