Target Audience

All licensed providers in the state of Kansas required to obtain Category 3 CME Credits.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this virtual conference, the participant will be able to:

• Explain standards for responsible opioid prescribing.
• Discuss differences in the pharmacology of commonly prescribed opioids that contribute to pain control, misuse and risk.
• Refer a patient for medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.
• Discuss pitfalls in the interpretation of urinary drug tests for opioids.
• Discuss non-pharmacologic methods of managing pain.
