Born as Pency Straight in Texas, she is one of the three children of Doris Jean Couser and John Byron Strait Sr. She grew up alongside her brothers; George Strait and John Strait Jr. until her parents divorced. As a matter of fact, Mr. Strait then married his second wife, Anna Strait, Pency's step-mother.
Pency then lived with her mother whilst her brothers lived with her father who was a mathematics teacher at a junior high school in Texas. Sadly, her father passed away in June 2013 whilst her mother died in Jan 2010.
On the death of John Strait Sr., the family of Pency released a public statement to thank for the support and prayers of their near and dear ones.
