Peta Wilson is an Australian actress and model best known for playing Nikita in the television series La Femme Nikita. Superman Returns, Johnny Zero, and CSI: Miami are just a few of the films and TV shows in which she has appeared. Wilson began her acting career in 1995 with the low-budget indie film The Sadness of Sex. She began her modeling career in Australia and Europe before relocating to Hollywood to pursue her acting career. Michael Hutchence: The Last Rockstar was a TV documentary about her that aired in 2017.
Early life
Peta Wilson was born in Sydney on November 18, 1970, as Peta Gia Wilson. Her father, Darcy Wilson, served in the Australian Army as a warrant officer, while her mother, Karlene White Wilson, worked as a caterer. She is of Australian descent, and her ethnicity is White.
Wilson lived in Papua New Guinea for several years when her father was stationed there. When she was 12 years old, her parents divorced. She began her modeling career in Australia and Europe before relocating to Los Angeles.
Wilson traveled to Los Angeles in 1991 to pursue acting under Arthur Mendoza and Tom Waits at the Actors Circle Theatre and the TomKat Repertory Group, respectively.
She began starring in modest roles in independent films after training with them for over five years. She had a cameo role in the indie film The Sadness of Sex in 1995.

Peta Wilson began her modeling career in Europe and Australia. Wilson then relocated to Los Angeles in 1991 to attend the Actors Circle Theatre to further her acting education. After taking acting classes, she was cast in tiny roles in independent films such as Loser and One of Our Own.
