Pools, Splash Pads, and Beaches

Looking for places to go swimming and other cool ways to beat the heat this summer? Check out these fun and family-friendly splash pads, local beaches, and outdoor pools in Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.

Austintown Township Park Splash Pad

The splash pad is open daily Noon to 8:00 p.m. 

There is a covered pavilion with picnic tables close by, but if you want to sit near the entrance bring a chair or blanket, and an umbrella, there is no shade right around the pad.

NEW! Packard Park Splash Pad
Behind Packard Music Hall at 1703 Mahoning Avenue NW.

Open now through Labor Day

Daily hours for the splash pad are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Cortland Splash Pad
140 Pearl St., Cortland

The Splash Pad is scheduled to open Memorial Day, weather permitting! Daily hours are 11am - 7pm. A pavilion with picnic tables is available on a first come basis. A number of benches are scattered around the Splash Pad. 

Mill Creek MetroParks - Wet Playground

The Juliana Kurinka Children’s Play Area offers four play areas for children of all ages. The area includes Wet, Adventure, Sand, and Tot Playgrounds with equipment and features designed for interactive, physical, and social play. The Play Area is designed with family in mind as it offers designated areas with appropriately sized/designed play equipment for tots (ages 2-5) and older children (ages 5-12).

Craig Beach at Lake Milton State Park

The 600-foot beach has restrooms, change booths, showers, playground, basketball court, and sand volleyball court. Swimming is permitted in designated areas. Please exercise caution while swimming at the beach. Pets are NOT allowed on the beach.

Mosquito Lake State Park

A 600-foot beach provides recreation for swimmers and sunbathers. Swimming is permitted in designated areas. Please exercise caution while swimming at the beach. Pets are NOT allowed on swimming beaches. A separate dog park with a swim beach designated just for dogs is available.

Rental of pool parties, pool passes, swim lessons, and private lesson sign ups also begin May 29th at noon. 

Public lessons are offered for 2 weeks: June 21th-25th, and June 28th-July 2nd.

Public Swim lessons cost of $15 per swimmer.

Logan Campus | JCC of Youngstown

Membership to JCC of Youngstown is affordable and includes access to the outdoor pool at Logan Campus. The pool features a sand play area, sand volleyball, live music, tennis courts, a snack bar, and more.

Youngstown YMCA

The Davis Family YMCA is the home of two beautiful outdoor pools featuring geysers, curtains of water, water slides, and a diving board. The outdoor pools are open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. For your comfort, there are six giant shade umbrellas and 225 chaise lounge chairs available, as well as three pavilions. Our concession stand, operated by the Provenzale family, is open daily and is located adjacent to our outdoor dining patio.
