Question: Where Is Tmp on Linux?
Contents

/tmp is located under the root file system (/).

Where is TMP mounted?

The output of df /tmp gives the answer: the “Mounted on” column lists / , so /tmp is part of the filesystem that’s mounted on / , i.e. the root filesystem. It is not a separate filesystem.

How do I check my TMP?

To find out how much space is available in /tmp on your system, type ‘df -k /tmp’. Do not use /tmp if less than 30% of the space is available. Remove files when they are no longer needed.
