Richard Blais is a chef, restaurateur, author, and television personality. He received his degree in culinary arts from The Culinary Institute of America and studied under chefs such as Daniel Boulud, Ferran Adria, and Thomas Kellar. Blais opened his first restaurant, BLAIS, in 2001 and has since partnered with TrailBlais and Concentrics Hospitality to open additional restaurants. He has endorsed companies like Diageo and Garrett Popcorn and hosts the TASTED YouTube show BurgerLab.

Blais was a contestant on the fourth season of Top Chef and was the runner-up. He later won the competition on Top Chef: All-Stars. He has also appeared on Top Chef Masters and the show Life After Top Chef. In 2010, he hosted the Science Channel series Blais Off.

In 2013, Blais released a book and in 2014, he opened his newest restaurant, Juniper & Ivy, in San Diego, California. He also ran the New York City marathon in 2011.
