Richard Allen Howes serves as Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Howes recently announced his retirement as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dundee Precious Metals effective May 7, 2020. He is a Professional Mining Engineer with over 37 years' experience in the mining industry. He is a visionary leader in mining, organizational innovation and transformation to create competitive advantage and was recognized as the Outstanding Innovator of 2016 by the International Mining Technology Hall of Fame. Throughout his career, Mr. Howes has been closely associated with the practices that make for worldclass mining operations, including Inco’s North Mine, which won the 2006 Ryan Award as the safest mine in Canada. His extensive industry experience includes progressive technical, operating, management and project roles in many of the largest underground mines and mining companies throughout Canada and, most recently, internationally. Mr. Howes joined Dundee Precious Metals in early 2009 as General Manager and Executive Director of the Chelopech mine and, in November 2010, was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In April 2013, he assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Howes attended Queen’s University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering. He is also a member of The Institute of Corporate Directors.
