Your business plan should be a roadmap that guides the strategic course of your business. Use SWOT analysis to help people understand how their work translates to the goals and milestones you're laying out in your business plan.
Where do you put SWOT analysis in a business plan?
When doing the analysis section (market, industry and competitive analysis), you will be discussing opportunities and threats (external analysis). In your action plan (people, operations, marketing, sales) you are covering the internal analysis of strengths and weaknesses (e.g. what's unique about your business).
Why do you need to include SWOT analysis in a business plan?
The point of a SWOT analysis is to help you develop a strong business strategy by making sure you've considered all of your business's strengths and weaknesses, as well as the opportunities and threats it faces in the marketplace.
