Should Lock Files Be Committed?

A lock file contains important information about installed packages and it should always be committed into your Package Manager source repositories. Not committing the lock file to your source control results in installing two different modules from the same dependency definition.

File locking is a mechanism that restricts access to a computer file, or to a region of a file, by allowing only one user or process to modify or delete it in a specific time and to prevent reading of the file while it's being modified or deleted.

Should I commit Poemlock?

You should commit the poetry. lock file to your project repo so that all people working on the project are locked to the same versions of dependencies (more below).
