How do you keep a purslane blooming?
Why Purslane Does Not Bloom…
Purslane prefers poor, dry, well-drained soil. If portulaca won't bloom, it may be because the soil is too rich or too soggy. Although you can add sand or a small amount of compost to the soil, it may be easier to start over in a new location.
Does purslane need to be pruned?
Harvest the purslane stems by collecting the stem, but don't cut too short to enable regrowth. Better to harvest young purslane stems, since the leaves are more delicious. The younger the purslane leaves, the more they melt in your mouth.
