Should You Hook Tweeters?

Both a tweeter and a subwoofer can be hooked up to the same amp. However, the sound quality will be lessened unless a passive crossover is used. A passive crossover sends high-pitched sounds to the tweeter and low-pitched sounds to the subwoofer, enhancing the clarity of music.

Can I hook my tweeters?

First, drill a hole into the door panel that is almost exactly as wide as the tweeter. Then, slide the base cup (which holds the tweeter in place) into the hole so that it is snugly secure in the panel. Finally, attach the tweeter to the base cup.

Can I wire tweeters to door speakers?

Many people think you can wire a tweeter directly to a speaker and that assumption is partially correct. You'll also need a frequency crossover to complete the installation and prevent damage to the tweeter because it's not meant to receive the same amount of power as the speaker or woofer.
