Should You Retreat Lice?

If you see lice on your child's head or body, it needs to be treated. If you live with or are close to someone who has lice, you need to be checked for it. Anyone who shares a bed with someone who has lice should be treated at the same time.

Is it bad to not treat lice?

Untreated head lice may degrade the scalp and affects it health and that of the hair. If the follicles become blocked, then hair loss may occur. It is hard to have well-conditioned hair if it is covered in head lice eggs, lice and bacteria.

Is it OK to kill lice?

Pyrethrins are safe and effective when used as directed. Pyrethrins can only kill live lice, not unhatched eggs (nits). A second treatment is recommended 9 to 10 days after the first treatment to kill any newly hatched lice before they can produce new eggs.
