Shows Like When Calls the Heart

The season 6 finale of When Calls The Heart is set to air this Sunday, June 2, and it's bound to be bittersweet, to say the least. As much as Hearties are looking forward to watching the final episode, we're simultaneously mourning the end of yet another visit to Hope Valley. (Oh, and we're still not over Abigail Stanton's unexpected exit, either.)

Luckily, the show has been renewed for yet another season, and we've always got the annual Christmas special to look forward to come December. But in the meantime, we're going to need something to watch on Sunday nights.

That's why we've put together this list of shows similar to WCTH that might just help you cope. While nothing can take the place of our favorite Hallmark franchise, these are a pretty close second. Take a look:

Lark Rise to Candleford

Lark Rise to Candleford will transport you to a small town in the English countryside circa the late 1800s. Though it first aired back in 2008 (and in 2009 here in the States), the show feels almost like When Calls the Heart's British sister. Gorgeous period costumes, heart-wrenching romances, and a community not unlike that of Hope Valley make this series an obvious choice.

Little Women on PBS

Little Women is PBS's three-part 2018 adaptation of the universally-beloved novel by Louisa May Alcott. A coming-of-age story that takes place during the Civil War, this gift of a series follows the daily lives of Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March and their mother Marmee as they cope with their father's temporary absence due to the war. It's not quite long enough to tide you over until When Calls the Heart starts up again, but what it lacks in duration, it more than makes up for in quality.
