Susan Koerner

Professional Background

Susan Koerner, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a clinical assistant professor in the KU Department of Hearing and Speech at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She joined the faculty in December 2022.

Koerner provides clinical supervision in a variety of clinics across the lifespan and specializes in assessment and intervention using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. Prior to her return to academia, Koerner served as a speech-language pathologist in a variety of clinical settings including school-based, outpatient rehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient pediatric. In total, Koerner has nearly 10 years of clinical experience.

Academic Background
In 2019, Koerner returned to the University of Kansas to work on her doctorate in speech-language pathology. She is currently in the dissertation phase of this program of study working with Nancy Brady, Ph.D., CCC-SLP.

She received her master's degree in speech-language pathology from Fort Hays State University in 2014 and a bachelor's degree in speech-language hearing from the University of Kansas in 2012.
