Now in its 25th season, the reality TV show Ghost Adventures has featured several creepy interactions and terrifying episodes since its premiere on October 17, 2008, making it the longest-running ghost-focused paranormal series.

15. “Waverly Hills Sanatorium” (season 4, episode 4)

In this episode, the crew goes to Louisville, Kentucky to explore the Waverly Hills Sanatorium. This was a former hospital that treated thousands of tuberculosis patients in the early 1900s. Visitors to the hospital claimed that they heard anguished screams, spooky footsteps, and slams while there by themselves.

The horrific backdrop of the episode, coupled with the crew hearing the voice of a young child, made this episode extra spooky. Their equipment kept going off, and it felt like one of the most heart-racing episodes of the entire show.

14. “The Harrisville Farmhouse” (season 22, episode 1)

With this being the Halloween episode of an already scary show, it’s no surprise that this is a good episode. In it, Zac and the ghost hunters go to Rhode Island to find out more about the Perron family haunting that supposedly takes place at the Harrisville farmhouse. This actually was the spot featured in the horrifying film, The Conjuring.

While there, Zac began to feel ill. He was dizzy and felt anxious and panicky. He says that he never “felt possessed, but like something was drawing the life out of me. Seeing him so freaked out added to the scariness and appeal of the episode.
