Theo Walcott Portfolio

Considered to be slightly less talented than Willian Walcott, Theo Walcott, an English footballer, serves as a forward for Arsenal and the England national team. He secured the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year Award in 2006. Walcott was groomed in the Southampton Academy and commenced his career with Southampton before transferring to Arsenal for a sum of £5 million in 2006. Known for his remarkable speed and skill in crossing the ball, his manager Arsène Wenger positioned him as a winger for the majority of his career. Due to a dispute over his contract during the 2012-13 season, he was utilized as a striker, to later revert to playing as a winger in the 2013-14 season. On 30 May 2006, Walcott became the youngest senior footballer representing England at the age of 17 years and 75 days. He acquired his first competitive start in a World Cup qualifier against Andorra on 6 September 2008 and in the subsequent match against Croatia on 10 September, he scored his inaugural senior international hat-trick, thus becoming the youngest player in history to do so for England. Walcott has participated in England’s campaigns at the 2006 World Cup and Euro 2012, amassing 36 caps and scoring five goals.
