This Is How to Say Cheers in Different Languages

There are many theories and stories surrounding the origin of 'Cheers!' One of the most popular, albeit fictional reasons was that by clinking drinks, they spilled into each other's glasses which meant that they were safe to drink if everyone was drinking it without hesitation. But apparently this was fiction created and credited to Alexander Dumas. Usually, the host would sample the drinks being served at parties anyway, like is still being done with wine till today.

A more recent tradition is to clink glasses to good health (which is what the words for 'cheers' in most languages translates to) and you HAVE to maintain eye contact or you run the risk of suffering through 7 years of bad sex.
