From their previous marriages, the pair has two children. They welcomed their first child together, a son named Joshua, on June 8, 1998. Ryan Evan Russaw, their second child, was born on March 22, 2007. On June 8, 1998, his daughter, Tatum, was born in addition to his sons. Faith's mother is Helene Evans, and her father, Richard Swain, is a well-known musician. She was born before Richard died. Since beginning to sing at the age of two, she has been in several films and has even won a Grammy Award for her work as a renowned hip-hop vocalist and songwriter.

The singer has also worked as a supporting actress in minor television roles also has published a biography titled Keeping in Faith, which was one of the best-selling books included in the New York Times Bestsellers list.
