Later he started working as an investment advisor in his investment firm and started a Ponzi scam, tricking the Montgomery Bank and Trust and many other investors out of around $70 million.

He was caught for his embezzlement and arrested on fraud charges but soon became a fugitive after trying to fake his death by jumping off a ferry in Key West, Florida.

His attempt to fake his death was compelling as he wrote a suicide letter admitting his wrongdoing in June 2012, sent it to his friends, and jumped off the boat, missing for almost 18 months.

During his time as a dead man, he admitted to working as a drug runner, pimp, and cage fighter, but the cops found and arrested him in late December 2013.
