Xbox Series X Can Be Played Horizontally or Vertically

One of the questions fans have been asking since Microsoft announced the Xbox Series X is whether the new console can lay down horizontally. After all, the system was unveiled standing up vertically like a PC tower.

The answer is yes. According to Xbox head Phil Spencer – who unveiled the system at The Game Awards 2019 – the company “designed Xbox Series X to support both vertical and horizontal orientation.”

That’s good news for people who might want to store the system as part of their living room entertainment system. Whether you lay it down horizontally or stand it up vertically, it looks like it will take up quite a bit of space no matter what.
