Athi River Flood Victims Overjoyed After Well-Wishers Gift Them Food, Clothes: "This Is Amazing"

• Eric Omondi went back to Athi River, where he rescued people who were marooned in an estate full of floodwater
• When Omondi responded to the distress call in the estate, he found people on top of roofs stranded, and he lowered them and helped to paddle them to safety
• After five days, Omondi went back to the estate accompanied by a well-wisher who sell mitumba clothes and presented much-needed goodies to the people

Athi River flood victims could hardly contain their excitement when they saw comedian Eric Omondi visit them bearing goodies.

Comedian Omondi hires boat to help people

Omondi first interacted with the flood victims when they got stranded in an estate that had flooded and soaked all their belongings, rendering them helpless.

Omondi hired a boat to help rescue Nairobi residents who were trapped by the floods, lowered them and paddled them to the safety of dry land.

He also urged the government to begin rescue operations, faulting them for their slow action that was, in turn, endangering lives on that day.

"Went back to Athi River to check on my people. Thank you so much, Jane Wamuyu of Best Mitumba Bail (bmb). God Bless you," he said.
