The United States Military Academy is mourning the loss of retired Maj. Gen. Jerry Allen, a transformational Commandant of Cadets who spent over a decade shaping future generations of military leaders.
Allen served with distinction as the 49th Commandant of Cadets at West Point from 1999 to 2011 – the second longest tenure as Commandant in the storied Academy’s history. In this critical role overseeing the Corps of Cadets, Allen left an indelible impact on the culture and development of thousands of future Army officers.

“Major General Allen’s steadfast leadership and care for the Corps markedly influenced so many outstanding young leaders over his tenure,” said Lt. Gen.
