I use Ubuntu everyday for both research studies - open source tools are fundamental in Neuroscience research - and leisure - only Ubuntu gives me the freedom to tailor the OS to my needs, especially thanks to the large community always ready to provide support.

I started using Ubuntu since its first release, i.e. Ubuntu 4.10 (Warty Warthog). A lot of learning through experience ever since. Even though I wouldn't define myself a super-user it is time to share some knowledge when opportunities arise.
