Research

Overview

Although Dr. White is part-time with our department, as he is the Chief of Ophthalmology at the Kansas City VA, he is actively involved in research within our department and in collaboration with other departments within the University. Most of his projects have been done in coordination with medical students or residents, which affords the opportunity for both scholarship and mentorship. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, my practice is quite diverse; this is reflected in the variety of research projects I have worked on over the years, including both ophthalmology topics such as oculoplastics and pediatric ophthalmology, as well as broadly applicable issues including domestic violence, global health, and burnout.

I have also assisted in clinical trials in conjunction with other departments at KU as a sub-investigator, performing eye exams for patients receiving study drugs.
