In 1995, Walker Nathaniel Diggs’ parents, Taye and Idina, met as co-stars in the arena production of Rent. They then started dating and shared the stages from The Wild Party and Wicked. The couple announced their engagement in April 2002.

Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel exchanged their vows on January 11, 2003. After six years of marriage, they announced their pregnancy in March 2009 and welcomed Walker Nathaniel Diggs on September 3.

Father, Taye Diggs

Newark, New Jersey native Taye Diggs was born on January 2, 1971. Marcia and Andre Young have five children, the oldest of which is him. Diggs attended Allendale Columbia School in Rochester, New York while growing up. He went on to the School of the Arts after that. Syracuse University has awarded him a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Diggs appeared in several theatres as a boy and made his Broadway debut in the Tony Award-winning musical “Carousel.” His first prominent role was in the Tony Award-winning musical “Rent,” which also won the Pulitzer Prize. Idina Menzel, his future partner, met him on the set of “Rent.” In addition, he appeared in the 2005 film adaptation of the play.

Following that, aye Diggs landed the lead role in the television show “Kevin Hill,” which lasted just one season after receiving high ratings from critics and audiences.
