The Glover needles are a heavy needle with sharp triangular points that easily pierce leather. They are a specifically designed for sewing hides and work very well for commercial hides and brain-tanned hides.

Leather needles are sometimes referred to as Glovers needles because years ago they were used by glovers, who specialised in the art of hand making gloves. These needles are still used today, especially in all types of leather work including shoe making and shoe repairs, belts and leather garments.

What size Glovers needle?

These Needles come in several sizes. Size 1 is the largest. For light leather work (like medicine pouches) we suggest using a Size 8. You can use a Size 10 to sew 10/0 beads to leather.
