What mission did Damián Massanet do?

In May of that year Massanet founded the Spanish mission San Francisco de los Tejas, near what is now Augusta, Texas, in order to convert local Indians of the Hasinai (Tejas) confederacy to Christianity. Massanet soon quarreled with De León, who wanted to provide a large defensive force to protect the mission.
