What Did Lilo Hide in?

The version of Lilo and Stitch that’s streaming on Disney+ has changed in a major way, apparently. The editors at Disney decided to secretly alter a scene — the one in which Lilo is hiding from Nani in a dryer — and changed the dryer into a regular cabinet.

Where does Lilo hide?

When Walt Disney Animation released its beloved classic Lilo & Stitch, there as an early scene in the first act where Nani is chasing Lilo around the house. Many fans of the film will remember how, at the end of the chase, Lilo hides in the dryer, and Nani turns her little sister’s hiding place as a trap.

What does Lilo climb out of?

In the UK, to avoid a “12” rating, a shot of Lilo climbing out of a tumble dryer has been reanimated to have her lowering the top of a cardboard pizza box cover she is using to hide herself under a wooden table. The pizza box takes the place of the dryer door, and the table is the same size as a dryer.

Following the release of Lilo & Stitch’s first edition DVD, it was decided to remove the dryer and change Lilo’s hiding space to ensure that little kids didn’t follow in her footsteps and start hiding in dryers, which can be dangerous.
