What Does Red-Fronted Brown Lemur Eat?

Red-fronted lemurs are tree-dwelling animals about the size of a house cat. They live in Madagascar's deciduous forests and primarily eat fruit and leaves.

What does Brown Lemur eat?

The common brown lemur's diet consists primarily of fruits, young leaves, and flowers. In some locations it eats invertebrates, such as cicadas, spiders and millipedes. It also eats bark, sap, soil and red clay (see geophagy).

How long do brown lemurs live?

​They can live up to 30 years in the wild; longer in captivity. These slender and elegant lemurs have a dense and soft caramel color pelage, hence their name. Males and females have the same coloring—a characteristic unique to this Eulemur species. Their long, bushy tail is the same color as the rest of their body.
