How do you grow things in Stranded Deep?
In order to plant a crop, you must have a Crude Hoe in your inventory (you don't have to be holding it in your hand). After the crop is planted, it must be watered to grow. The individual plots start with one water level. You can use one of the water storage items to water a crop up to its maximum capacity.
Is farming worth it Stranded Deep?
It's definitely worth it to build some farms. Just don't build anything other than the metal farming plots. They should stay watered for up to a week IG time which is good for all but the most nomadic explorers. One good tip is make use of "free" water when it rains and you're on your home island.
