He finally resurfaced on his twenty-first birthday to receive his inheritance, during which time he bragged to Aloysius of plotting a "terrible crime" before disappearing again. He was presumed dead in a car accident in the United Kingdom shortly thereafter.

Sir Pendergast is a Knight of the Zøg Table, and seems to be the leader of them, if not the most skilled. He was killed by the Arch-Druidess, with his head put on display on a spike (which traumatized King Zøg greatly).
Is Pendergast in love with Constance?

The cool thing about how P&C write this relationship is that it's mostly from Diogenes' perspective, so we know he really has changed and that he does indeed love Constance. ... Even less of a surprise than Diogenes' resurrection is that of Pendergast himself.
