What Is a Camel Dulla

Dulla (organ), a pink organ in the throats of camels, displayed out of the mouth during courtship.

Why do camels spit dulla?

Using their spit to make a low gurgling sound that results in foaming at the mouth, they also mark their territory by rubbing their necks (where they have poll glands that produce a foul, brown goo) anywhere they can, and even pee on their own tails to attract a lady with their urine’s “female-attracting pheromones“.

Why do camels inflate their tongues?

Male camels foam at the mouth when excited and have a soft palate (upper part of the inside of the mouth) that they can inflate to produce a deep pink sac that dangles from one side of the mouth and is used to attract females during the mating season. It is often mistaken for the animal’s tongue.
