What Is a Channel Splitter

A channel splitter routes MIDI events by channel. Every MIDI event received at the channel splitter input is automatically routed to the output that corresponds to its MIDI channel. If no cable is connected to the corresponding output channel strip, the event is rerouted to the SUM output (at the top).

What does a TV splitter do?

A splitter is a device used to split a cable signal between two or more devices, providing two coaxial cables to connect those devices. A splitter weakens the signal level. This can cause intermittent loss of service or, in rare cases, complete service failure.
