What Is a Dryer Pedestal

WHAT ARE WASHER AND DRYER PEDESTALS FOR? Washer and dryer pedestals raise front-load machines up 10–16 inches to help reduce the amount of bending and stooping needed to load and unload items. More recent innovations include built-in storage or washing machine compartments.

What is a dryer pedestal used for?

A laundry pedestal is a piece of home laundry equipment designed to raise the height of a washer or dryer in order to make the loading and unloading of laundry easier.

Do pedestals reduce vibration?

Pedestals do not “add” vibration. However, they certainly can amplify it if it exists. May require more careful attention to equalization of foot-loading of the machine than you’re accustomed to. And installers are notoriously deficient in doing this because it takes more time than they’re willing to spend.
