The Aircrew Program is a six-year enlistment program guaranteeing initial assignment as a flight crewmember in a fixed wing, helicopter or Unmanned Aerial System squadron. The program provides for training via various Class "A" Schools for a specific service rating within the Naval Aircrewman (AW) general rating.
How long is Aircrew Candidate?
Training & Advancement
Upon completion of the initial 7-9 week training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes (known as Boot Camp), you'll report for specialized training, including: Aircrew Candidate School (11 weeks) in Pensacola, FL, for training in Water and Land Survival and Flight Safety.
How do you become an aircrew?
Must have a high school diploma. Must have a combined ASVAB line score of VE + AR +MK + MC = 210 or VE + AR +MK + AS = 210. Must score a satisfactory-medium on a Navy Physical Readiness Test (PRT) while in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) Must sign a Hold Harmless Agreement prior to participating in a PRT.
