What Is Front Elevation

Front elevation refers to the side of the house which includes the entrance door, windows or front porch. This may be the side of the house that faces the road or has a front yard.

What is the front elevation of a shape?

Projections are the different ways you can represent a 3D shape in 2D (e.g. in a diagram). A front elevation is a view from the front and a side elevation is a view from the side. A plan is a bird’s eye view from above.

What is a back elevation?

Rear elevations present the back side of the house, with yet another straight-on view. As with the other drawings, notes regarding features that can’t be seen from straight-on views may be included on this drawing.
