What Is Leno Texture

Leno, also known as filled scrim, is widely used for bounce drops and cycloramas. Its weave is similar to that of the Sharkstooth Scrim but with the openings filled in. Because of its textured surface, Leno softens and diffuses light, making it popular with lighting designers. Leno is available in Grey and White.

What type of weave is Leno?

Leno weave (also called gauze weave or cross weave) is a weave in which two warp yarns are woven around the weft yarns to provide a strong yet sheer fabric. The standard warp yarn is paired with a skeleton or ‘doup’ yarn; these twisted warp yarns grip tightly to the weft which causes the durability of the fabric.

What is meant by Leno?

Definition of leno 1 : an open weave in which pairs of warp yarns cross one another and thereby lock the filling yarn in position. 2 : a fabric made with a leno weave.
